![]() The corn was tiny pieces of regular full size corn rather than little baby corn pieces, but that's okay. Some of the typical things to have in a hot pot were missing - no spinach, no bean sprouts, for example. I understand they don't want people over-ordering and then taking the extra food home, but this was only a half plate of meat left over from the three of us, hardly a gratuitous over-order and the alternate to taking it home was for them to throw it away (well, I hope they threw it away rather than served it up to the next diner!). We had some meat left over and I wanted to take it home to give to my dog - they refused. The downside of the 'all you can eat' issue was a bit of a morally ambiguous situation. We chose the 'all you can eat' option ($20.50 a person, with some things extra), so it didn't matter too much that some things weren't provided, I guess. Service was somewhat slow and not very inattentive (not all the food items ordered appeared). We jumped the line by agreeing to be seated at the bar - everything is the same except instead of seated opposite each other in a booth, you're seated side by side and that starts to become a challenge if there are more than two of you (hint - take a corner of the bar in such a case). When we arrived, shortly after 7pm, there were 30 people waiting for tables, and when we left, after 9pm, there were still perhaps five or so people waiting (not the same ones that were there at 7pm though!). We were prepared to drop a nice wad of cash and gratuity at Swish Swish, but it never got farther than the front door. We went next door to MonGa Café and were not only greeted and treated like family, but had a wonderful Taiwanese dinner (but that's for another review). That turned out to be a positive decision, however. My impression was that the host (manager?) either didn't care or didn't want our business. Why couldn't he have told us we would have a long wait when we came in? There was no way we could just stand there until 8 p.m. Both from the sign-in sheet and by just seeing us standing there for 20 minutes, he knew what size group we were, but never talked to us. He said, no.that the soonest we could be seated would be 8 o'clock. So, we asked, couldn't we finish our meal in a little over an hour before the other group arrived. He said he had reservations for a group at 5:30 (they came in after us and were seated after a few minutes) and that another group had a 7 o'clock reservation. Finally, we caught the hosts attention and asked him how long it would be for a table. We stood around for at least 20 minutes (which with kids can be a long time). ![]() There was a sign-in sheet (we signed in) and a host who pretty much ignored us. There was a curved counter with stools, 4-place tables along both side walls and a couple of tables for larger groups behind a wall at the rear of the restaurant. I immediately liked the looks of the restaurant and the idea of cooking our own hot pots at our table was enticing. There were six of us, included a couple of young children. We arrived on a Monday evening around 5:30. Let me start off by saying I've never written a restaurant review like this before.primarily because I never got to eat at this place.
